• Character is everything "if the shoe does not fit don't wear it".  This is the same with attorney's as in any other service type business, nothing is worse than having hired an attorney who does not have open communication, sensitivity to your legal needs, understanding of your point of views with some added timely humor. If this person was not going to be your attorney, would you consider them a friend?
• Keep the money in your hands by asking the attorney his/her rates,  estimate on time and costs of representation, available payment plans and if a retainer is needed or if the work can be done with a flat fee.  This is a good time to allow the attorney to gather facts and propose a solution that is cost efficient and legally effective to your matter. 

   GOING AT IT ALONE....OR MAYBE NOT.

     If you are confident enough to go before the judge yourself "Pro Se",  and you are not certain where to start then seeking assistance on legal document procurement, a summary on the law as it pertains to your case, or maybe some coaching assistance on the court civil procedures may be all you need.

    These services are often referred to as "Unbundling".  This is when a firm provides legal services in specific stages of a person's case.  Like Arbital Law, other firms are ensuring that an individual can protect their rights without the cost of full legal representation by offering these specific services.  Some people need help producing documents while others need coaching on presentation in a courtroom, what ever your need may be this is a cost effective means of representing your legal issue.

    What ever direction you choose to pursue your legal issues it is always important to be prepared to provide detailed information regarding your case to the the attorney, so make a list before the first contact.
